If you’re a beginner, choose a flat bike path or road. If you’re ready for a tougher workout that also engages your upper body and core, try mountain biking. It’s also called off-road biking. You can do it on trails and different types of rough terrain.

Practices makes perfect in my opinion. Work on your core riding skills by doing what you want to train on consistently.
Ah, Not something I can directly answer but I have to say that the more I rode my bike outdoors the easier it became and the better I got.
